PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! STRICT HYGIENE!

  • INHALATION
    		• Sore throat. Cough. Laboured breathing. Dullness. Drowsiness. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).
    		Local exhaust or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• Redness. Pain. Serious skin burns.
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain. Blurred vision.
    		Face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Sore throat. Abdominal pain. Diarrhoea. Dullness.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Give plenty of water to drink. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Sweep spilled substance into containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place (extra personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles).
    		Separated from food and feedstuffs.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

     COLOURLESS CRYSTALS.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes in a flame or on a hot surface, forming toxic gases (bromine). Explodes on impact when mixed with lithium.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV: 0.1 ppm; 1.4 mg/m3 (as TWA); 0.3 ppm; 4.1 mg/m3 (as STEL) (ACGIH 1991-1992).


    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     Evaporation at 20░C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly by dispersing.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the nervous system, liver, and kidneys. Exposure to high concentrations may result in unconsciousness.

    EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
     The substance may have effects on the liver.

    The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate spray, by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered. Do NOT use in the vicinity of a fire or a hot surface, or during welding.
